To Our Valued LK Customers, the Findlay Market Community, and our Family and Friends,

I cannot express the amount of gratitude I have for the support that all of you have shown LK over the last 6 and a half years. Our success and all the opportunities that we have in front of us are because of you. I’m also immensely thankful for the people that have worked behind the counter here at LK to make our sausage shop a destination at the market. 

My team and I have found ourselves in the fortunate position of deciding the next steps for each of us individually and the next steps for the business. We want to improve, and offer new products and services. We also need to respond to the current needs of our customers as well as the changes in consumer demand.  

I am writing to outline several changes you will see at LK in the near future, and to give you an idea of what to expect as we move into the holiday season:

1. A temporary pause in service: LK will be closed from Sunday November 8th through Wednesday November 18th. On November 19th, we will reopen but will operate on a shortened schedule. From November 19th through December 31st, we will be closed on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, open on Thursdays and Fridays from 9 am to 6 pm, Saturdays from 8 am to 6 pm, and Sundays from 10 am to 4 pm.

2. New management and a new team: I’m thrilled to share that Tara Patterson will be taking over the day-to-day retail operations of LK. You likely know Tara from her business, Makers Bakers. Tara is incredibly talented and respected in the Findlay Market community, and will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the shop. I will still be producing sausage for LK at my processing facility, Sky Haven Farm, while also focusing on growing that wholesale business. I couldn’t be more excited for Tara to take the reins here at the stand, and to work with her on new product development for the shop. You will also see all new faces behind the counter ready to serve you, under Tara’s leadership.

3. A request for feedback: As we train and onboard new employees, there may be some mistakes along the way. If you have any questions or experience any mistakes that we need to fix, please speak up. We want to continue to deliver a great experience to you, and will work diligently to improve based on your feedback. 

4. An updated product mix: As Tara steps in, we plan to offer new products for the holidays and are in the process of evaluating slower-moving products. We also have plans to launch more new products in 2027.

If you are planning your holiday gatherings and need anything special or customized, we’re here to help. We do kindly ask for a little extra time so we can best accommodate those requests. If you don’t see something in the case, that doesn’t mean it can’t be made – please give us a heads-up in advance as we work through these changes during this busy season.
